As you may know, Microsoft is developing IronPython, a .NET implementation of the popular open-source Python programming language. While it’s clear that Microsoft wants to attract existing Python developers to .NET, the role of IronPython for existing .NET developers is less clear. What value is there for a .NET developer in learning IronPython? What are the tradeoffs between IronPython and a more traditional .NET language like C# or VB? How are customers and coworkers going to react to IronPython?
Harry Pierson, new PM for IronPython, will discuss where IronPython fits in the.NET developers toolbox.
